H. Kiepert. “Über den Volksstamm der Leleges”, (në Monatsberichte Berliner Akademie, 1861, fq 114) pohoi se Lelegët ishin një popull aborigjen dhe i lidhnin me ilirët.

Lelegët kanë një mbret, Altes, dhe një qytet Pedasa i cili u shkarkua nga Akili. Emri topografik “Pedasa” ndodh në disa vende të lashta: pranë Cyzicus, në Troadë në Lumin Satniois, në Caria, si dhe në Messenia, sipas Encyclopædia Britannica 1911.
Gargara në Troadë u numërua si Lelegian. Alkausi (shekulli i 7-të apo i 6-të pes) e quan Antandrus në Troadë “Lelegian”, por më vonë Herodoti zëvendëson epitetin “Pelasgian”
Gjatë gërmimeve të fundit, në qytetin e lashtë të Pedasa në Konacık, u gjetën rrënojat e tempullit të Athenës. Tempulli i përket qytetërimit të Lelegëve që ekzistonte në këtë zonë rreth shekullit VI para Krishtit.
During the recent excavations, in the ancient city of Pedasa in Konacık, the ruins of the temple of Athena was found. The temple belongs to the Leleges civilization that existed in this area around 6th century BC
